With its acquisition last week of MyCase, LawPay and its parent company AffiniPay also acquired a new chief sales officer, Steven Silberbach, who formerly led global sales at Clio, and who is a veteran sales leader with significant experience in building revenue, value, and client impact.
Silberbach joined MyCase full-time on March 1, after having worked as a strategic advisor for the company and its investor Apax since the start of the year.
Now that AffiniPay has acquired MyCase, Silberbach has moved into the position of chief sales officer for MyCase and LawPay during a pivotal time of growth and innovation for both companies.
He will continue to focus on the software side of AffiniPay’s business for the time being, but will eventually expand into the payments side as well, he told me.
“I’m very excited to be joining the team at LawPay, to head up the sales division for a now combined $200 million ARR company,” Silberbach said. “The experience I’ve gained in the legal tech industry, and across global SaaS markets and sales channels, will help guide our combined team and further establish our technologies as the best in the market.”
Silberbach was with Clio from 2013 to 2018, first as vice president of global sales and then as senior vice president of global sales. Earlier, he had been a V.P. of sales at Salesforce.com.
Since leaving Clio, Silberbach has also worked as an advisor to three other legal technology companies that have platforms specializing in entity management, tax research, and spend management.
