The legal website Lawyerist, which started a decade ago as a blog run by Sam Glover about law technology and practice, will now move in a new direction, Lawyerist CEO Aaron Street announced yesterday.
“After years of planning—and a year of behind-the-scenes building and recruiting—we are excited to announce a new direction for Lawyerist and our tribe of entrepreneurial small law firms,” Street wrote.
The company has adopted a new tagline, “Join your tribe. Grow your firm,” and says it will focus on two areas:
- Building a “tribe of creative, innovative, disruptive, entrepreneurial small-firm lawyers.”
- Engaging with those lawyers more deeply by helping them manage and grow their businesses.
As part of this change in focus, Lawyerist has launched what it calls the Small Firm Scorecard, a self-assessment for solo and small firms to benchmark their firm structure and management.
The company is also introducing Lawyerist Lab, which it says is a community and set of tools designed to guide lawyers on the path to improving their firms.
Related to that, it will also launch a conference, Lawyerist LabCon, which will replace the TBD Law conference it hosted in recent years.
