If you haven’t watched Better Call Saul then, well, you’d better. The Breaking Bad spin-off features the travails of Jimmy McGill, aka Saul Goodman, an ethically challenged advocate for whoever will pay his fee. This is a lawyer whose every action seems tailored for a law school ethics exam. But just how ethical or not is Goodman?
That has been the topic of examination of New York ethics lawyer Nicole Hyland on her blog, The Legal Ethics of Better Call Saul. This week, Nicole is our guest on Lawyer2Lawyer, where we discuss a range of ethics issues raised during the show’s first season and Nicole offers her verdict on whether Goodman is an ethical lawyer.
Nicole Hyland is a partner in the Litigation Group and Professional Responsibility Group at Frankfurt Kurnit. Her practice focuses primarily on legal ethics, professional responsibility, and legal malpractice.
